Cracked ("the app") helps you recreate store-bought food at home by reverse-engineering recipes from nutrition labels and ingredient lists. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.
When you photograph a nutrition label or ingredients list, that image is sent to Google's Gemini API to extract the text. The photo is processed for that single request and is not stored by us afterward. We do not access your photo library beyond the specific images you choose to select or capture for scanning.
Ingredient names you enter or that are extracted from a label are sent to the USDA FoodData Central API to retrieve nutritional information. This is a public government database lookup and does not include any information that identifies you personally.
Saved recipes, folders, and folder colors are stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, back up, or have access to this data on any server. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
Cracked offers an optional auto-renewable subscription to unlock recipe step generation. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store, and subscription status is managed using RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives your anonymous purchase and subscription status information in order to verify your entitlement — it does not receive your saved recipes or photos.
Cracked does not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email, or other contact information through the app.
We do not display ads, and we do not use advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a revised date above.
Questions about this policy can be sent to the support contact listed on the app's App Store page.
